Q. How much solar electricity do I need?
A: Ideally, your system will be designed to offset 100% of your energy needs. This will vary depending on your energy use and the efficiency of your lights, refrigerator, washing machine, computers, and other appliances. To produce all the power for your home you typically need anywhere from 4 -15 kilowatts (1 kilowatt = 1,000 watts). Obviously, the more efficient your home is, the smaller your system needs to be. System size is also determined by site conditions, including the amount of southern exposure. We’ll work closely with you to determine the most efficient design for your needs and your budget.

Depending on the rebates and incentives offered in your area, you may be able to pay back your system even sooner.

A: None! Solar power is virtually maintenance free, and since you will still be connected to the grid, you will receive power even when the sun isn’t shining.
